Kitchen of the Month Winner for Cabinet Refacing for September

Kitchen Transformation

For this kitchen remodel, the homeowners wanted to give their dated kitchen a refreshed look. The kitchen had a very traditional style and the homeowners were looking for something more transitional. While the style was dated, the kitchen cabinets were still in great shape. This kitchen was the perfect candidate for cabinet refacing. Cabinet refacing or resurfacing is a process we use to update cabinets that are in good working condition. It typically saves the homeowners time and money, because we’re recycling the existing cabinets. The layout was exactly what the homeowners wanted, but the kitchen island needed to be adjusted from the two-tier style to a single level, extended countertop for additional seating. With that decided, we showed the homeowners our Kitchen Solvers Classic Collection line and they chose the Seamless Shaker door style in a Gale Force painted color. With dark cabinetry, we decided it would be best to keep the countertops and backsplash light.

We began the refacing process by removing all of the doors, drawer fronts, countertops and backsplash. We also removed the kitchen island to make room for a new larger island. We applied the material to the frames of the cabinets, added new doors and drawer fronts, and placed the kitchen island in the optimal spot for efficiency and seating room. Next, the Silestone Bianco Calacatta style quartz countertops were fabricated and added and finally the backsplash was updated to a white tile. Finishing touches were added like the brushed gold Sutton Pulls and a new pendant light fixture. When this kitchen was complete, it was a huge transformation, even the homeowners weren’t fully expecting. They are so excited to call this new (recycled) kitchen theirs!
